The National Law Universities (NLUs) conducts Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for different undergraduate law courses offered by 18 universities of NLU’s and other private or government universities such as Delhi University, NMIMS etc.
The examination is conducted online for 2 hours. Their application forms are available from January each year. Aspirants need to fill up the form only when they meet eligibility criteria of the exam i.e. 45% in their class 12th or any equivalent examination (40% for SC/ST/OBC Students). Student’s appearing for boards can also appear for CLAT exams but they must present their board results at the time of admission. The examination pattern includes 200 questions of 200 marks which include 40 questions from English including Comprehension and Logical Reasoning, 50 questions from Legal Aptitude and General Knowledge and Current Affairs and 20 questions are Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability). 1 mark is rewarded for each correct answer and 0.25 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
